I should have added more details, but the wood is cedar, stapless, the light colored wood is pine, love the way it turned out, the dark stripes are recycled redwood from a picnic table my parents bought in California in the 50's that finally fell apart a few years ago, beautiful color, and the hull is cedar. The hatches are held down by bicycle seat post clamps, I think they are going to work great.
