Here is a shot of the hold down system. I won;t take credit for it though. Came of another web site by a builder in Portugal I think. The pieces on the sides of the maple "lock" are plywood that serve to stiffen the top and act as guides for the dowel. Between the dowel and under the cover I will add a small nut so all I have to do is lift up to remove it.
