I got a call out of the blue today asking me to teach a one night (or more) class at the local RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program?) about building kayaks. This is a group of retirees. This came out of the blue but I told the lady I would have to think on this. But I must admit it sounds like fun.

So I am looking for ideas and suggestions. I started writing down some ideas. Figure I could give a quick history of the the kayak. Talk about the different types of kayaks. Move on to types of construction. If there is room there bring a boat or two. Maybe make up some samples of strip construction. Maybe a section of a stitch and glue panel and bulkhead out of some scrap plywood.

I know you guys will have some better ideas. If I can come up with something worthwhile I think I would like to do this.
