: While I am not a big fan of the import machines, I prefer to buy old American
: made Iron and restore it. That is a good saw and one of the best deals out
: there on a bandsaw. I have one and I have no complaints about it except
: for the roller bearing guides. But, that's what everyone wants even though
: they are not the best style of guides. Mine are 3-4 years old now and
: starting to get really noisy. I would replace them with cool block of oil
: soaked wood if I could find the holder cheap. But I have a replacement for
: it under restoration so I am not going to spend much on it.

: Do yourself a favor and by a couple of Timberwolf, Lennox or Starret blades
: for it. Blades break when you least expect it, so you want to have a
: spare! And the Grizzly blade, at least on my saw, was cheap and dulled
: fast. Buy good quality blades and you will be glad you did.

That's a pretty cool old saw, finding parts would be an interesting experience I'd bet though. Years back (when I had the big shop) I almost bought a 48" ship's saw, the table stays horizontal and the rest of the saw tilts for angle cuts, but finding parts for it was impossible.

I bought a couple Timberwolf blades when I bought the saw, will likely buy more. The stock blade won't fit anymore since I bought the riser block, now uses a 105" blade. The saw I got is the one bigger than yours, 1 1/2hp motor and cast iron wheels.
