I can't comment on your specific injuries but I do know that shoulders can have a long slow rehab process. One good thing is that I don't think they are prone to arthritis.

I had some arm surgery in May to repair broken bones. I have been going to physiotherapy twice a week since the beginning of July and I'm making steady progress. The adjacent arm surgery in having my arm in sling for 6 months was enough to cause havoc on the shoulder. These kinds of things are extremely common. Surgery or no surgery, I would think that you may need a long, steady physiotherapy program to help. I've seen too many shoulder injuries in the clinic to think that healing could be done otherwise.
