: Getting back to work on my racing kayak and was wondering if you guys notice
: significantly longer curing times when using 404 High-density filler? I am
: using Raka fast hardener and it really slows it down.. it eventually cures
: which I guess is all that matters, but just wondering.
: Felt good to get the stern finished off and now clamping the bow.. tomorrow
: maybe laminate some strips on to finish the bow off.
Unless you're working at very reduced temperatures (temperature effects the cure times of resin) or you're not getting the resin/hardener mixed properly before the filler is added, the filler shouldn't effect the resin's cure time at all. I've not used Raka but perhaps you are getting a reaction between the resin/hardener and the filler?
Sometimes it's a little hard to troubleshoot epoxy problems remotely.
