: Well technically you won't have a masik with a keyhole cockpit, it would be
: too far forward of your bod to work. It's just a frame forward of the
: coaming.
: Can't really use greenland kayak terms with a non-greenland boat and have
: those terms mean what they are supposed to mean.

Sometimes I do not express my thoughts well. You are right I should not have used a SOF term in a Yost style of construction. The Yost HDPE cross section that supports the front of the standard Yost cockpit coaming will be too far aft to support the lengthened keyhole cockpit coaming without obstructing the front portion of opening. Assuming a 22 inch long Yost coaming opening, a modified station will need to be constructed to install it 11 inches farther forward to accommodate a 33 inch long keyhole.
It is important not to relocate the paddler in the kayak as to change the center of buoyancy of the kayak because the crosswind paddling properties of the kayak (weathercocking/leecocking) will change. So to correctly locate a keyhole coaming it will extend farther forward to obtain the knee clearance and should not extend any farther back to keep the backrest in the design location; moving the cross section at the front of the cockpit forward will be necessary.
