Actually, I believe the SOT kayaks at that site were designed specifically for fishing. There are several detailed builder's logs on the forums on that site where the builders went into great detail about how they rigged the kayaks for fishing and where they purchased their supplies. I find that duckworth's boat builder supply has some great deals on epoxy, cloth, and other necessities.

Also, there are plans in which you can add a Hobie Mirage drive to the Sabalo and the Wadefish Sit on tops. These are the two that were designed for fishing for which plans and pre-cut kits are available. There were also some custom designs done for people for fishing. The designer will custom design whatever you want. A man from Hawaii had a 12 foot SOT designed for him for fishing while another man had an 18 foot tandem SOT fishing kayak custom designed.
