Well it is Thanksgiving, many may be home with family. I though was too a bit shocked at the lack of replies. I've lived most of my life on the shores of the great lakes so I well understand the difficulty of what you're attempting. The reaction people not living here to the lakes is often a bit strange, seems they picture them as little inland lakes.

I think the Explorer is an excellent choice, though there have been quality control issues the last few years with them, I'd want the boat well ahead of time to work thru any problems.

Right now I'm getting ready for a Thanksgiving Day paddle, local group is going out this am, my NDK Greenlander is on the roof of the car covered in frost, this somehow seems strange .
