I had not thought about that, good point. At this point it would br simple enough to add an intermediate framing. Attach it to the coaming and the floor maybe?

Just went down there and grabbed the frames and tried to flex them. I had to pull hard! Stronger than I expected. I used pine for the stringers because I couldn't find decent cedar. But I still think it's not a bad idea to add some support there. I need something under the coaming anyway so it should be simple enough to tie the support into the flooring boards? Will have to think on that one a little bit.
