Most foam brushes will work with epoxy, the people at West Marine are rarely experts, as with most other retail stores. When you roll epoxy you'll introduce air into the resin, needs to be tipped off to get rid of most of them. Application can be done with a roller and get it clear but first the epoxy and the boat have to be fairly warm, actually the warmer the better up to say around 80 degrees, epoxy is pretty thick at temperatures below 70 and the bubbles won't come out of suspension easily at these temperatures. You can't roll back and forth like if you're painting a wall, roll on direction only.

It's easier to apply it bubble free with a brush and then squeege it to get a smooth and even surface.
