: this after they were epoxied onto the side panels. Were I to build another
: boat with shear clamps, I would do the same again.
I have built a few and I did round them (in the cockpit). My knees don't hit them, but toes do sometimes when entering the cockpit. It is also a good idea to do that for the deckbeam (if there is one).

The underside of the shearclamp and the shearclamp/deck joint gets filleted with epoxy/filler and having a round/chamfer will also make the smoothing of that fillet easier and less likely to leave splinters in your hands.
