From my understanding dust collection is dealing with cfm's and vacuuming the wall to wall rug is pull or inches of mercury, or velocity or suction. You may have a vacuum that will pull your skin off but only move 200 cfms. I use a 11 amp shop vac on my table saw and seal it up as best I can and can cut MDF with a top mount saw gaurd with a 1" hose also. I also am in LA ,Cal.open door. I used a friend's Uni Saw with a full dust system and you still must run the recirculation fan, and he has a air helmet for use with nasty tropical woods, and does this work for fun not profit.
