Pair of pliers works pretty well for tightening them, probably have them already

I use them for temporary clamps, specially for Yost SOF's, works well for that.

The nylon cable clamps though don't do well on a moving joint (a clamped only joint will have some movement) eventually they'll break used that way. Once they break under the skin, there'd be no easy way to fix it without removing the skin and their sharp edges (once broke) would be trying to poke holes in the skin.
