hi All,
Now that I'm with a pile of Poster Boards in front of me, I was wondering if the length has to be longer to accommodate a paddler of 220lbs ??
I have seen some sit on tops, and touring Kayaks that are short and wide.
I would like to design my Kayak shorter, so that it's easier for me to transport. I cannot lodge a 17 footer on top of my car for sure! Also I just saw some Kayak shops online that sell less than 10'Kayaks that can take 350lbs. paddler. So it is a lot of encouragement for me, and now I know that smaller Kayaks can handle 200+ pounds.
So please tell me, if I want a 8 - 9'Kayak, how wide, how deep, the boat be?
and how big should the cockpit be?
PS: If I have a 13' Kayak (Yost's Sea Bee) offset table, how do I convert it to a 9' table and proceed to draw my frame?
