Skin-on-Frame: SOF skin coatings

At some point in the future I am probably going to be building a "Yostlike" wood frame kayak. I am planning on using a ballistic nylon skin coated with 2-part urethane. What I was wondering was if I can paint the outside of the skin after sealing with the urethane?
