Use an H channel, then glass over that.
Or, put on a beefier outside seam.
Or,
run a 1" strip of thick tape around the inside perimeter of each mold half. When the parts comes out of the mold, remove the tape, you will have a recess at the parting line to lay the 2" seam tape in.
One production method is to make a rigid box seam on the hull, fill with Plastic Weld (methyl methacrylate) and drop the deck into it and tape tight until set. Kind of an inverted "h" or moat that is part of the hull. A simlified version of this would be to make an internal flange on each part.
