Please speak only for yourself. I don't agree with your description of what this site is and isn't. Frankly I lurk for those pearls of wisdom that go beyond basics.

I have a hunch that all who ask questions on this board are not greenhorns and we may be missing some good information by discouraging some of these projects.

I don't exactly know what Sam's qualifications are but his input here is priceless and superior to most.

There is a great cowboy quote that says "The quickest way to teach a greenhorn is to let him do it his way".

I personally think there is great value in that.

: a basement laboratory at Carnagie-Mellon Univerity. To go thru all that

: boat could have been bought off the shelf for less than it cost to build.
