A work table is not really required for a S&G. I liked sitting on carpet pieces on the floor. The Pygmys I built were glued up on 3 sawhorses that were set level and in line. You can keep the sawhorses from moving with bags of sand or concrete mix. I like the Hirsh sawhorses or any other with a pair of braces just above the floor.

: Hi - I am a newbie and have been lurking for a couple of months ...

: I will be building a stitch & glue kayak with my 13 yo son this Spring.
: We are both very excited to get started and are in the middle of the
: planning process. Can anyone give us some advice as to how wide our work
: table should be? We don't want a table that is too narrow but don't want
: to lean over too much either.

: We were thinking of perhaps a 3 feet wide table made of 2 sheets of plywood
: or MDF on 3 saw horses. Any suggestions?

: Thanks and Happy Holidays to ALL!

: Howard
