: The amas could also be made from the halves of the whitewater catamarans that are offered in several stores/catalogs.
Bill, that is pretty much the source of the amas being used by Brad and myself. Custom Inflatables makes a line of white water cats under the name of ThrillKat and the owner, Attila will gladly make just a pair of the tubes without the joining structures. If you also order glue-on loop pacthes from him it then becomes pretty easy to attach the amas to a set of akas with cinch buckle straps.
The amas used for canoe and kayak sailing come from the boat on the left in the photo. These tubes are 9" in diameter and can be made to any length you might need.
