SS is very expensive but certainly one option if I could find a source. The commercial
companies have bands that have welded tubes on the band ends allowing a SS bolt
to hold it together and allow adjustment or removal. I've thought of this and I could braze
or rivet a brass block to the ends of the SS band for bolt placement.

: Another approach would be to use SS rods with threaded ends and a coupling
: like the old wood or concrete silos were put together with.

I've thought of this too but what do you call those end coupling fixtures? Where can I buy them?

Now that you have me thinking, it would not be that hard to make block to do the same thing.

I'm just thinking through all possible options and sorting by difficulty, cost and aesthetics.
