The gunwales were precut and mortised and a few other parts normally done if you go to Oregon for the class. Since he flew to the RDU area, he had some parts including the coamings prepared for us to complete.
It's been 4 - 8 hour days and today was a 10 and I have to say I am impressed with Brian. I'm sure a lot of people can build a SOF but I'm not sure how many can keep a class with the range of skill levels we have on pace and doing it right. I'm the only one in the class who has ever built a kayak and two have never owned a kayak. I'm blue collar but when you can take a nurse with five thumbs who has never built a bird house and give the experience of building a kayak and a GP in less than 8 days, you have earned my respect.
Brian is a young man with a lot of patience, talent, and a great personality.
: Wow! all that in just five days! Did they do all the work or did you have
: some stock prepared ahead to save time?
: Glen in Baie-St-Paul.
