Quick question- I'm restoring an Adirondack guide boat buily by the Grasse River Boatworks in the 1980s that had caned seats. I've finished the hull and have started working on the seats. I've removed the cane and sanded the seat frames. Should I seal the seats with a coat of epoxy or varnish first or install the cane and then seal with epoxy or varnish?
