Skin-on-Frame: Glued frame or not

Hi builders of skin boats I wonder why in the traditional skin build the system is to lash the connections. The nontraditional system can use glue or epoxy at connections. I read the lashing can have some flex which prevents over stressing the joint. However a Yost frame is solid and strong. So what if you were to glue and peg the deck beams and lash the steam bent ribs to the stringers. This is sorta like a hybrid traditional skin build. It seems that the sheer boards glued to the deck beams and deck stringers may produce a strong backbone and the lashed ribs could be a hull with some give.
