There are many examples of Greenland qajaqs that had the rib to stringer and keelson joints fastened with a clenched nail.Personally I prefer lashings to glue or nails. Easier to reposition something before skinning or to modify the qajaq later.

: skin build. It seems that the sheer boards glued to the deck beams and
: deck stringers may produce a strong backbone and the lashed ribs could be
: a hull with some give.
