It may not have come off that way, but I'm aggreeing with you. If a Yostie can be epoxied together, I don't see why a traditional frame could not be expoxied together. A properly epoxied frame should stay together, especially with lashed ribs. Lashing vs epoxying the stems is a good question. Gorrilla or titebond, I would not trust.
People assume expoxied Yosties do not flex, but I'm predicting they do. The spacing between forms is probably enough to cause flex. Lashed Yosties probably flex more and traditionals probably flex even more, but I bet they all have more flex than a strip or stich and glue.
I guess the big reason why people don't do it is that gluing stringer to ribs is completely out of the question so if you have to lash things anyway, just lash the frame together as well.
