$1400 / 24 =~$58/month. That is not too much for a portable, fairly fast internet connection that you can:
-Use for your computer
-Use for your cell phone
-Get rid of phone service, get Skype and have your phone over internet (VOIP)

In my area I pay $50/month and have all of the above which means I have internet at home, cell phone, I can call through Skype from home or cell phone anywhere in US for free, international calls are so cheap you can call as much as you want and barely notice.
Caveats:
-Some providers limit monthly bandwith (but if you don't download a lot of Torrents you should be OK)
-You need extra hardware - cell phone, skype phone (so you are not tied to your computer when making calls)
