Hi,

Thanks Paul (and Bill) for the replies. I'm off to the hardware today to try and get a decent thin kerf, fine saw blade for my old tablesaw, and will make a fence and featherboards to try and get straight cuts when ripping the strips into 2 or 3 pieces. I've decided to persevere with getting the strips cut, and use them for a couple of racing kayaks where the lighter weight will be beneficial, and they won't have to stand up to pounding seas. I'll use other strips (thicker) for my Night Heron.

I will probably use the lamination technique to make a Kaholo SUP (from CLC) as a test before doing a whole kayak (if I do).

Paul - I have a plywood supplier here who can get sheets of .8mm, 1mm and 1.5mm ply, including some in gaboon and huon pine marine ply. Often used for model aircraft, but I have thought of stripping this to use for a lightweight boat. One day perhapps...

Regards,
Darren
