Paul,
E-glass is the most commonly used glass fiber. S-glass is sronger (mostly realized in tension) and more expensive. The chemical composition of S-glass is closer to pure SiO2 than E-glass. S-glass wets out trnasparent just like E-glass but some find that it's more "visible" than E-glass.
