So my wife asked me to build one of those star decoration for the side of our house and I thought it might be a fun stich and glue project. I got some 1/8 inch birch plywood and googled a couple of trig formulas to figure out all the lengths and angles to make a 5 sided 3d star. As it turns out I had to recall the laws of sin and law of cosin. Next I found an old tin star, covered it in plastic tape, mold release. I used this a as a clamping jig to hold plywood pieces in place over wetted out glass.
It was a difficult to hold all of the pieces in exact alignment and I probably should have used wire tie like a boat rather than using tape. I now may cover it in a nice veneer and glass the outside.
