The hot glue holds the strips to the forms, the clamps and C shaped plywood pieces hold the strips in place while the glue sets. Also need some way to clamp the strips between the forms to each other, the hot glue/staples/C clamps only hold at the forms and the strips will separate between the forms. Masking tape works pretty well for this.

Btw, the staple holes pretty much disapear when the boat's done.
