...toggles and cords are far superior to bungees. I use them on all of my boats, including my fiberglass boats. A properly rigged deck makes it very quick and easy to stow and retrieve a paddle, secure a chart and other common tasks. I often do put one strand of bungee across the deck in front of the cord/slider rigging, so I can stash somewhat bulky but lightweight items like gloves or a hood. I'm a firm believer in clear decks and never carry a pump or paddle float on them, so that's all the bungee I will ever need.
