When I cut the hatches in my Merganser I used a Dremel with a 1/16" grout removal bit. I used the cone shaped base with a pattern held down by double-faced tape. With the curved deck of the Guillemot, you will need some bending plywood. Post some pictures so we can see this awesome boat.
