Hi all!
After much reading and a phone call to Joe at Redfish, I settled on his Spring Run design for my first build. Cut strips yesterday and I am pumped! Western Red Cedar with a bit of Ash, Walnut, cherry and Mahogany for details.
I go to the cardiac surgeon on Tuesday to learn the date of my valve repair/replacement. My goal is to have the strongback and forms done and the sheer strip in place before the surgery. The rest of the boat will be my therapy during the recovery. Have watched a number of heart surgery folks drop into a funk after surgeries. No way I can be in a funk around wood and boats! Having a project that allows me to see physical progress will be good for me. Or really frustrating if I can't get out to the garage to work on it.
Either way, I'll keep you posted.
Warmly,
Scott
