Hi Bill,
When I was a pattern maker I sometimes had to dismantle an old pattern to make alterations. Finding hidden screws behind good plugs was tough when the matches were nearly perfect. The plug cutters I had worked well in soft woods like pine and WRC but walnut was too hard for the cutters I had.
