: Hi all!
: After much reading and a phone call to Joe at Redfish, I settled on his
: Spring Run design for my first build. Cut strips yesterday and I am
: pumped! Western Red Cedar with a bit of Ash, Walnut, cherry and Mahogany
: for details.
: I go to the cardiac surgeon on Tuesday to learn the date of my valve
: repair/replacement. My goal is to have the strongback and forms done and
: the sheer strip in place before the surgery. The rest of the boat will be
: my therapy during the recovery. Have watched a number of heart surgery
: folks drop into a funk after surgeries. No way I can be in a funk around
: wood and boats! Having a project that allows me to see physical progress
: will be good for me. Or really frustrating if I can't get out to the
: garage to work on it.
: Either way, I'll keep you posted.
: Warmly,
: Scott
Hey Scott. What a great idea and outlook. My mom went into a tail-spin for a while after a scare and a couple of stents. She should have read this post.
I wish for you that your surgeon is as good a carpenter as you are and that he or she views your heart lovingly as a work of art in progress during the op.
