: BTW, I don't want to sound critical, but now might be a good time to start
: teaching your daughter about proper safety in the shop. Floppy bunny ears
: are cute, but the strap was covering her eyes--and that can be dangerous.
: Why not get her a pair of child-sized overalls and make that her official
: outfit for carpentry? When she is ready to work, she changes into her work
: clothes. From a practical point, it is easier to get sawdust off of denim,
: than out of plush fur, too.
: Hope this helps.

First, thanks for the info on the HMW.
Second, you definately didn't come across as critical. This response isn't supposed to either!
The strap that you see is actually the upper-edge/rim of her safety glasses. They were slide down slightly, but I believe she had clear vision (head tilted down and work being below her). It being over here eyes is a more of trick of perspective. These are the glasses:

I also bought her a second pair:

Our shop rule is that if sanding or cutting are occurring and you're in the garage- you have to wear them. I abide by my own rule.
As for the clothing - that's an excellent suggestion. She had changed clothes mid-way through the day. Earlier in the day she was in pants and close-fitting shirt. She was wearing this outfit while we were working the jig saw together.
I hadn't thought about the saw dust collecting on her clothing. I definately like the idea of denim coveralls.
Please share any other safety tips. I'm all ears.
