I imagine Nick and others here who sell finished boats have run into these scams
before but it's worth mentioning so one of our number does not get burned.

I'm in email contact with a person who wants to buy one of my boats ASAP, and keeps saying
how they are eager to give me their credit card information if I will contact their shipping company to arrange shipment.

Unlike legitimate customers who ask questions about different designs and paddling
features and want details about the boat, these scamers keep saying how they want to give you their money ASAP.

If is sounds like a scam it is a scam. Somehow they will want you to cash a
bad bank check or use a bad credit card number to give them back money they over paid.

I tell them it's All cash in advance.

I have a bank check on the wall for $10,000 from a bank in Florida that looks good. I was sorely
tempted to cash it and ask questions later but I called the bank first and they said it was bogus.

AND if they ever give you a destination in Africa that seals it. I don't know if they know what sea kayaks are in Africa.

What out! And you other businesses too. They play on greed!

All the best,
Rob
