: the epoxy fiber glass laminated wood this still be true if your but joint
: was oriented near to each other vertically the lamination was going to be

Try cutting the purple wood, if it turns tan when cut then gradually returns to the purple color it might be purpleheart. Pretty but very dense wood that's very heavy.
