The Garmin Legend is the most basic model with maps on it and the price is dirt cheap compared to what they were initially. They are not without weakness, so I would recommend buying from a place with a good return policy like REI. For more bucks you can get color and frills. The maps save a lot of time in throwing down a destination waypoint without entering coordinates manually.
