This is a happy bottom seat with my own backband. I found a use for some of those small strip scraps, and found this very comfortable. OK, I'm cheap. I thought of padding the back band, but have not felt the need after using it. I glassed the strips with several layers of 4 oz. cloth, it is very strong. A bungie behind the back band holds it up. Velcro strips hold the seat down so I can remove it to clean and dry out underneath.
