: Hi everyone,
: Quick question here. I am getting ready to add some carbon fiber to some
: handmade wood paddles along the tips. I have West Systems 105 Resin and
: some 206 hardener. I've been reading up a bit and it sounds like, for a
: clear finish, I need a 207 hardener that the 206 hardener would leave a
: milky finish? Is this correct or can i still get a good finish when using
: the 206 hardener?
: Thanks!
I used to use West's fast and slow hardeners all the time, now I only use 207. I think you'd still get a nice clear finish with the 206 hardener but it's got no UV resistance so would need varnishing to provide that and will likely blush so that would have to be sanded/scrubbed off. 207's easier.
