you leave out an important figure,,your weight. If you want stable and BIG it's because the two of you are BIG. If you aren't BIG,ie. 400lbs+ for the two of you you don't need a big boat.

The CLC sport tandem is not a big stable tub. I was the first person to paddle it with and without a rudder after the first prototype/demo model was built. It's actually quite maneuverable but two 175lb paddlers will easily tip it over leaning to one side.

For rec. paddling and two paddlers who don't paddle in synch the cockpits might be a bit close together on the ST. If you decide on the ST. I'd suggest a deeper rudder than the Feathercraft rudder CLC sells for it.
