Hi there Ruedi,
If you have all the water out, make sure the wood is also dry and when/if it is, then find where it entered and seal it.
Then fill the end from the holes you drilled, but first put in a tube for your rope to pass through from the bottom. Seal the tube on the top end with tape and stop about an inch short of the exit hole so that you can pour in the epoxy mix. The tube should seal the other side. If not use some white playdough or the like around it. When the end is full push the tube the rest of the way. Seal around the tubes with epoxy. Let it filter in as long as it will take it, but first tape up the other end of the tube so that none escapes.
