This looks awesome. I like sanding, but even so it would cut build time if you used this method, and it appears you'd end up with a stronger glass bond. Thanks for posting this-

Better art-supply stores carry mylar as well.

Someone posted about this stuff earlier in the week as a protective film: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Scotchgard-PPF/Home/For_the/Consumer/

I'm going to try it, but it's removable, so it might be good for the type of protection you're looking for.
