From what I know...

20 gauge = 0.032" & 24 gauge = 0.020" but when you are talking the thickness of aluminium sheet.

For PVC (& other films) thickness 1 gauge is equal to 1 mil, so 20 mil = 20 gauge = 0.020" = 0.05mm.

: Another source said 20 gauge was 0.032" or 0.8mm. It said 24 gauge was
: 0.020".
