Allan, thanks for the information. I was planning on going with the 16 gauge, or possibly something 10 or 12 gauge, but wasn't sure how that compared to what I already had. I ended up with 20 gauge but I think next time I'll trim it down a bit. The 20 is clearly (no pun intended) heavy enough for slightly rougher use than I anticipate so making something a little lighter should be okay. I don't think I'll push it quite down to a 4 gauge, but probably down around 10 or 12 should be okay.
