I agree with what others said, it happens all the time, it tends to get better with age and does not affect the quality of the boat. It still paddles just fine.
You mentioned commercial boats and I have seen a commercial SOF with very slack skin, so it won't turn away business as long as you explain that its not a problem.
Aaron... There IS more poly on the bottom of that boat because the bottom got well beaten and I wanted to make it smooth again before I gave it away. I'm happy you are getting a lot of enjoyment from it. It originally had 5 coats of Zar and its 12 oz nylon from Dyson.
