I have a selection of routers. One fixed base Dewalt from a dual base kit. Has a plunge base, but I've never put the motor into it. Nice tool. I've used it quite a bit and I like it. I have however, heard that the quality of Dewalt tools is deteriorating. I don't buy them anymore. I have a couple of Tritons, which are a Australian brand. They seem to work pretty well, although I did have the bit slip in the collet and loose height adjustment on a recent job. Made a bit of a mess. I think it was my fault for not tightening the collet enough. I use a 3&1/4 HP Triton in my router table and so far it has been a joy. Also have an older Bosch plunge which is rock solid. The common thread on all these tools is that they are contractor grade. Rigid is actually getting very good reviews these days, but I don't own any of their products. B&D stuff breaks. I don't advise buying any of their new tools.

If you intend to use it more than once, buy good tools. They are a joy to use and will save you much cursing. Cheap stuff breaks and looses adjustment. Very aggravating. Save your temper and buy good stuff!
