You can make wood flour out of a very dark wood and when mixed with epoxy it will make an even darker concoction. It won't be black but for a glue line it will be close enough no one will know the difference. You get the added benefit of a fairly strong epoxy mix because wood flour is a medium strength thickening agent.
You can even test whatever you come up with ahead of time by wetting the wood flour with water.
